Background - BA in Physics from Oberlin College, PhD in Experimental Psychology from UC San Diego, coursework in Clinical Counseling from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology.  15 years at Bell Laboratories doing a bit of Everything.  Organization development, training, facilitation, coaching, and consulting on my own before joining HCSC (see above).

But also...

I worked with an organic farm in Naperville for a couple of years, doing their publicity and the weekly newsletter that went out with the produce pick-up.  You can still find some of the many recipes I put on-line at their website, the Green Earth Institute.

I have a patent (Patent No. 4,827,500, Binkerd, Buss, Gawrys, and Stone) that describes those services where they ask you to "Say 'one' for this, say 'two' for that" and then they route the call differently depending on what you say.  It won AT&T's Strategic Patent award in 1997 (though all the work was done in 1985, when I was still doing technical work).

On a lark, I entered a contest that involved submitting an essay on Gratitude.  It was sponsored by Anita Fontana of Attitude of Gratitude.  And I won!
