My Family Tree

As part of a project for a class I took, I mapped out as much as I could of my family tree.  I have since added pictures of as many people on the tree as I could.  If you're a member of the family, you might be interested.

To view the family tree, I recommend that you save the file and view it in PowerPoint.  To do this click HERE and then choose SAVE (not Open). Then open the saved file with Powerpoint. If you open the file directly, it will be sized to fit on your screen and you won't be able to adjust the magnification. You won't be able to read the names or see the pictures! (To adjust the magnification in PowerPoint, choose Zoom under the View menu and play around with different choices).  There are two more pieces to this tree, one that shows Rosalie Tetreault's Ancestors back 8 (!) generations, and one that shows Albert Hamel's family.  View those directly or save and open as with the main tree.

Who's included?  Busses, Bergens, Hamels, and most of all Guillets.  I haven't got nearly all of the family in pictures, but I do have some surprisingly old ones.  Feel free to send me additional photos you want me to include, digitally (christineATcmbuss.com - substitute @ for AT) or, if you're willing to risk it, by mail (21 S. Columbia St., Naperville, IL 60540) and I promise I'll return them!

How did I choose the pictures?  Sometimes I only had one.  Sometimes I just picked the clearest one.  When I had several, old, young, and in-between, I generally chose ones from young adulthood (when we all looked our best).  This may not be how you remember some of your relatives, but maybe you'll be interested to see what they looked like in their youth.

Where did I get the pictures?  Huge thanks go to Jackie Wallace for giving me a mother lode of pictures from the Guillet family and to Bob Buss for sharing his shoebox full of goodies.  Many thanks to Bob and to Annette Guillet for the time they spent identifying everyone.  And finally, I cannot say enough about the painstaking time Ed Halpern took to scan in all the pictures and digitally improve some of the oldest.

Don't stop there.  If you like these pictures, you're sure to enjoy the rest of them, available HERE.
